About Ms. McClure

Hello! My name is Ashley McClure- this is my 14th year of teaching and my fourth year at Green! Prior to living in Raleigh I lived in New York City where I taught kindergarten in East Harlem and worked for two years as an Academic Intervention Teacher. Before moving to New York I taught three years of Pre-K and one year of 1st grade in Louisiana. I am a graduate of the Indiana University - Bloomington (Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education) and Louisiana State University (Master of Science in Early Childhood Curriculum and Instruction).

I am the oldest of two children (my brother lives in Wilmington) and am excited to be living close to my family! About five years ago I rescued my dog, Pippa, a terrier mix from Texas.  I love baking sweet treats and spending time outdoors.

I am passionate about making sure that every child feels seen, supported and celebrated for what makes them uniquely themselves. I believe that each child and family contribute to making our classroom and school community stronger through learning about each other's cultures, languages and experiences.
